Plymouth Rock Master Plan, Plymouth, MA
The Interpretive Center, part of a Plymouth Rock Master Plan designed by CYMA 2 in association with The Halverson Company, consists of a group of waterfront buildings organized along a central spine and arranged to take full advantage of views and points of interest in the park itself. Visitors are drawn up the hill by the sight of the Visitors' Center, the relocated portico over the Pilgrim sarcophagus, and by a new grand stair located across from the entrance of the Brewster Gardens. The portico will be a prominent and appropriately important feature in the landscape. The Massasoit statue, relocated to overlook Plymouth Rock, is also prominent, adding to visitors' investigation of the top of Coles Hill.
