Childtime Learning Centers, Inc., Farmington, MI Cyma 2 was retained by Childtime Learning Centers, a national daycare provider, to develop their daycare conceptual floor plan. Utilizing a model of 135 children and incorporating the state of New York’s guidelines for day care centers, this conceptual plan was then used for their marketing efforts throughout the country. We have subsequently been retained by Childtime to refine this marketing conceptual plan for specific space program requirements of individual companies being seriously courted for contracts. These efforts have included companies such as Citicorp and Cablevision of New York, Timberland in New Hampshire, and Beaumont Hospital Michigan. Central to Childtime's philosophy of space were issues of scale for children, security with vision panels throughout the proposed facilities, relatively large common indoor play, and socialization nodes for learning opportunities between older and younger children. These types of spaces included such areas as “IMAC world” an aquarium wall, and designated drama and arts areas. Childtime always incorporates a strong indoor/outdoor relationship in their plans, both communal as well as by individual classroom. Our relationship with this corporate client is ongoing.
