Boston Housing Authority, Facade Inspections, various locations
Under contract with the Boston Housing Authority, CYMA 2 carried out facade inspections on fifty high-rises. The reports documented deterioration, unsafe conditions, observable movement, and water-tightness. In some cases, further observation was recommended, as well as the use of more sophisticated methodologies to specify corrective actions or verify potentially hazardous conditions. The reports included visual inspection from the ground and rooftops, spot checks on reported leaks, interviews with building managers, and reviews of available construction documents and maintenance reports. The report was cited by the city's Inspectional Services Department as a model for reports of this nature.
