The Bates Arts Center Adaptive Reuse and Feasibility Study, Boston, MA
HOME, Inc. selected CYMA 2, Inc. to prepare a feasibility study of adaptive reuse and redevelopment for the Bates Arts Center and the two vacant properties to either side of the center. This study was performed under a pre-development grant from the Massachusetts Historical Commission.
Cyma 2 conducted an existing conditions survey along with specific recommendations regarding planning, maintenance and repairs to the historic structure.
A development analysis encompassed both parcels of land on either side of the center and focused on a possible historic preservation tax credit transfer project. This study was intended to attract a potential developer's interest and to help the city create additional affordable housing in the South End.
