441 Stuart Street, Boston, MA This Art Deco landmark underwent major renovation and retrofit. The 11 story, 200,000 square foot building had extensive roofing, masonry, window, decorative, and interior work done. The new signage and interior lighting were designed in keeping with the original Art Deco spirit of the building. Also installed were a new sprinkler system, fire pump, emergency generator, and alarm system, as required by the state's Highrise Code. Original finish was restored to much of the lobby's metal trim, supplemented by custom-designed light fixtures. Additional touches included a newly designed security desk and telephone booths in the Art Deco style.
